“The mythical retelling of your summer camp romance, only the Greek chorus is the school band.” -Ira Glass Adjy is a musical mythopoic apparatus based in undisclosed locations in Appalachia. After being approached by Triple Crown Records, the Project signed with the label, and after several tours, Christopher Noyes reclused like an alchemical hermit and has spent the past 5 years writing and recording their debut full-length record: "The Idyll Opus (1-6)" Adjy ‘s live musical performance is generally 5-6 musicians, whose goal is to create moments of wonder and aporia through passionate performances, the inclusion of several idiosyncratic instruments, and audience participation/bewilderment… With its emphasis on storytelling, Adjy cants deeply sincere hymns. While at times they’ll find themselves somewhere between an Andy Kaufman bit, and a Punch Brothers concert… they feel perfectly at home amongst an “Emo,” “Indie,” or “Punk Rock” Show with their use of sing-along gang vocals, raucous climaxes, and emotional sets.
Patrick Jasper is a Chicago based guitarist and songwriter. Drawing from his roots in folk, math-rock and experimental rock, his new project tumbles into new sonic territory while maintaining a down to earth musical sensibility. His recently released debut album "Loreto" knits together a wide pallet of textures and harmonies and draws on the technical facility of the band members jazz backgrounds.
Slow Riser is a Chicago-based dark indie-pop project comprised of two longtime musical collaborators, Ian Young and Claire Watkins (Scout Ripley, Morning Arms). On their nocturnal-themed debut album, Midnight Talks, the duo explores the ways age, mental state, season, and location inform our ever-changing relationship with the night. Underpinning their lyrical vignettes is a tapestry of reverb-drenched guitars, soaring strings, ethereal synths, and downtempo beats. The result is an emotionally and sonically dynamic album that occupies the liminal space between genres.
