In celebration of 3 years of the event, General Readings is hosting a week long series of readings/shows/parties at Cafe Mustache and Cole’s Bar.

This is the third and final, Contrapuntal Readings, a gathering of writers, musicians, and musician-writers.

General Readings first ever Show and first ever event outside of Cafe Mustache features Eli Sugerman, Jacob Stovall/Early Country, Jessica Mindrum, Tyler Crain, Shami of Mother Fortune, and local Logan Square legends, Vamos!
Tyler Crain is a sound collage artist from Chicago, Illinois that manipulates and arranges source material from thrift store cassettes and his own compulsive field recordings. It's folk music. It's tension music. It's what it sounds like in his head.
Eli Sugerman is a writer and illustrator based in Chicago, Illinois. His writing has appeared in Mangoprism, Two Headed Press, Raging Opossum Press, and Same Faces Collective. Along with Dizzy Turek he is launching Borametz Press, an experimental publishing project.
This is the solo work of the leader of Mother Fortune, Shami. He loves to write and think ideas of what can bring people the most joy!
Anti-shoegaze guitar/noise. For fans of that part of "Down by the River" where Neil Young invents no-wave.
