Datie Katie is the one off dating show where Chicago’s most notorious speed dater, Katie Conway, is handing control of her love life to her friends. Katie’s Love Council will be reviewing applications until Jan 28th, if the council thinks you’d be a good match for Katie they will reach out to you. But if you’re reading this after Jan 28th don’t fret there will be one wildcard slot available to someone in the crowd that night. The show itself is gonna be a ride, Katie’s Love Council will be running the whole thing & narrowing down contestants until there’s only 3 left for Katie to pick from. Who knows what’s gonna happen on Feb 20th? Katie certainly doesn’t, are Katies deepest secrets going to be revealed? Will Katie regret this? Probably not, she’ll do anything for the plot. Perfect Mash: A Dating Show
Perfect Mash is a monthly inclusive dating show from Hot Potato Hearts! Come early to the show to mingle, flirt, and most importantly fill out compatibility quizzes for each featured dater they are interested in. The show itself will be a combination of games, interviews, and storytelling exploring what our featured daters need and want out of their Perfect Mash. While the show is going on the Hot Potato Hearts team will be combing the quizzes filled out earlier to determine the three most compatible attendees for each featured dater. The daters will choose their Perfect Mash from their top three after chatting with them all on stage. The three Perfect Mashes will then blindly pick a date activity. Trust me you won’t be disappointed with these dates; friends of Hot Potato Hearts, Lincoln Hall, Uncommon Ground, Avondale Bowl, Central Park Bar, and Bernice’s Tavern to name a few, have graciously sponsored the winning dates.

Piraguas Y Piropos, Rosalba Valdez, Emil Rojo Band
Marcos and Jose created Piraguas y Piropos in 2021 after performing in duets in Chicago for about 5 years. Piraguas y Piropos came from an absence in musical representation locally to have an ensemble that actively performs Jibaro Music (also known as Puerto Rican Folkloric Traditional Music) in Chicago. Outside of its presence in mainland Puerto Rico, the music we play is not only an act of performance but an essential piece of keeping alive a severely underrepresented form of music. Both musicians were raised and taught in the Puerto Rican tradition with an ample background studying and performing jazz to incorporate elements of jazz into Jibaro music without losing the essence of it. A lot of Jibaro music has a classical music background but also offers the flavor and syncopations of the Caribbean, bringing a dance element that makes it well received by a large audience. We’ve landed on a format that allows us to revere our origins while incorporating an openness to improvise in a way that keeps it fresh every time it is performed.
