Nurse Julie, Average Joey and the Rabble Rousers, Roaming Bear
Nurse Julie are an instrumental chamber ensemble from the sprawl between Chicago and Milwaukee that subscribe to the ethics of punk rock, with a sound that lies somewhere within the realm of post-rock.Average Joey is a full time traveling songwriter and musician, living perpetually on the road sharing his mix of storytelling folk songs, mischievous country tunes, danceable string band music, and punk rock banjo. When joined by the Rabble Rousers, Average Joey is able to bring these songs to life backed by fiddle, jazz guitar, and Tuba. Roaming Bear is a name that is synonymous with fun and adventure to his small cult of loyal followers; the “Roaming Bear Militia.” Growing up in the suburbs of Chicago and Milwaukee, Bear was inspired by the riff-heavy midwest emo bands that shaped the Chicago music scene, but also the lyrically comedic acoustic folk punk ballads of Milwaukee sweethearts the Violent Femmes.
Perfect Mash: A Dating Show
Perfect Mash is an inclusive dating show from Hot Potato Hearts! Come early to the show to mingle, flirt, and most importantly fill out compatibility quizzes for each featured dater they are interested in. The show itself will be a combination of games, interviews, and storytelling exploring what our featured daters need and want out of their Perfect Mash. While the show is going on the Hot Potato Hearts team will be combing the quizzes filled out earlier to determine the three most compatible attendees for each featured dater. The daters will choose their Perfect Mash from their top three after chatting with them all on stage. The three Perfect Mashes will then blindly pick a date activity. Trust me you won’t be disappointed with these dates; friends of Hot Potato Hearts, Lincoln Hall, Uncommon Ground, Avondale Bowl, Central Park Bar, and Bernice’s Tavern to name a few, have graciously sponsored the winning dates.
Perfect Mash: A Dating Show
Perfect Mash is a dating show where audience members vie to win a date with one (or two… or three…) of three sexy contestants. Each contestant is hand-selected by our Mother Potato, Katie, and publicized beforehand on social media for everyone’s viewing pleasure. At the show, audience members can take a low-key, fun compatibility quiz for whoever catches their eye. If you score in the top two, you’ll head up on stage to answer questions from your potential Perfect Mash. Each contestant then chooses who they want to go on a date with based on their favorite response.
