justindemus is a lifelong experimental sound artist and DJ whose work defies genre. Recognized as a prolific figure in Chicago’s experimental music scene, their work combines elements of electronic, dance, dream pop, and shoegaze, resulting in a distinctive and emotive sound experience. Their unique style has earned accolades from local and international publications including the Chicago Reader, the Chicago Tribune, and Bandcamp, which describe their work as “hypnotic” and “genius”.

Performing alongside celebrated artists like Photay, Gang Gang Dance, and BSA Gold, their collaborations and performances span diverse musical realms, further pushing the boundaries of electronic and experimental soundscapes. With a slew of acclaimed EPs, their latest, “Rapture” (2022) was released through Julia Govor’s JUJUKA label and was noted for its raw, dynamic energy and fearless experimentation, cementing their work as a unique and powerful presence in the Chicago and global electronic scene.
